American Metal Fabricators "AMFAB" is a custom stainless steel and millwork food service equipment fabricator in the Washington, DC area. We sell wholesale to Food service equipment dealers and Restaurant Franchise Chains. We have been in business since 1946. Our infrastructure
AMFAB employs a workforce of over 100 people. Our state of the art 92,000 square foot manufacturing facility, with offices and and warehouses are located on a 8.84 acre tract gives us room to expand in the future. AMFAB is the largest NSF approved manufacturer of food preparation and serving equipment within a 100 mile radius of Washington, DC.
Cutting Edge Fabrication Technology
AMFAB's drafting department features the latest CAD/CAM technology utilizing AutoCAD r14 integated with a CAM system that is the first of it's kind in the United States. This system features pop-up folded shapes for our most used CAM routines. We provide shop drawings of or equipment in a 3D isometric format that are much more readable and understandable than the industry standard elevation, plan and section view drawings. Even the most inexperienced end users can understand our drawings. Anyone can see exactly what the equipment will look like with digital clarity before it is fabricated. All shop drawings and plans are printed on large format, high resolution Hewlett Packard color ink jet plotters.
Our CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Drafting / Computer Aided Manufacturing) system incorporates programmable CNC (Computer Numeric Controlled) punching and bending machinery gives AMFAB the capability to mass produce job shop type items along with intricate custom one a kind type work. AMFAB fabricates using standard #4 or mirror polished stainless steel, marble, solid surface materials such as Corian® Fountainhead® and Avonite®, high pressure laminants including Formica, Nevamar® & Wilsonite ®, woodwork, brass, copper, plastic laminate, curved and straight tempered glass and acrylic plastic. The use of the combination of these materials enables AMFAB to create anything you can imagine, including, but not limited to work counters, tray slides, display cases and breath guards with graceful curves as well as straight, angled or "U" shaped. We have delighted many designers and consultants by producing equipment designs that others claim are impossible to fabricate.
Our Custom Fabrication Services
We custom fabricate virtually any custom equipment according to designers and consultants specifications and plans. We routinely fabricate exquisite serving counters and food protector for fortune 100 corporate headquarters as well as serving counters for fast food restaurant chains. Not only do we fulfill the desires of food service designers but we fabricate standard back of house food preparation and sanitation equipment items, such as sinks, work tables, chefs tables, pot racks, wall shelves, panels and trim. Our list of standard items include self-contained refrigerated salad bars, cold pans, heated food bars, pass through windows and mop sinks. AMFAB can also go to the job site, take accurate field measurements, make templates and fabricate the equipment to fit any site requirement and guarantee to fit.
Complete Delivery And Installation Services
In addition to our ability to custom fabricate food service equipment and millwork suited to each individual customer's needs, we have the capability to receive shipment of catalog purchased equipment, store the equipment in our warehouses, and deliver the catalog items simultaneously with the custom fabricated equipment. Our services do not end there. We uncrate all items, assemble as necessary, set and level all equipmenet and remove shipping materials and debris. We do not stop there either. We weld and polish any required field joints in counter, table, sink and dishtable tops on the job site. We even install hanging equipment such as utensil racks, wall shelving and vent hoods. We can connect the vent to the exhaust ductwork and supply ductwork if required. Are we finished yet? No. We perform start up and calibration services on all equipment prior to opening.
These complete services have allowed AMFAB to compete with the largest fabricators in the world.
Alteration Of Existing Equipment
AMFAB can alter and relocate existing items of equipmenet at the job site or in our shop. We can remove existing items to be reused, warehouse them, alter them, if necessary, and deliver them to the job site. In the process we can clean, repair or refurbish the equipment as required.
Our Qualifications
AMFAB holds all applicable local mechanical and contractors licenses. We are a member of National Sanitation Foundation, "NSF" and we have tested all of our products to meet all applicable NSF standards in addition to the NSF standard #4, #7 & #2 for custom food service equipment. We test our equipment under the standards of the National Electric Code and Underwriters Laboratories, "UL" for compliance with all applicable standards. We are fully insured and bondable to complete any project including high security installations such as National Security Agency, "NSA", the Executive Office Building, "EOB" and the White House.
Our Experience
We have flawlessly completed projects for huge food service and lodging companies such as Marriott, Omni and Host International as well as high prestige hotels such as Ritz Carleton and Four Seasons. We have done complete fabrication for some of the largest restaurants in the United States such as Phillips Seafood Restaurants as well as five star restaurants such as The Inn at Little Washington.
We fabricate stainless steel equipment and millwork for fast food chains such as Macdonalds and Popeyes as well as Restaurant chains such as Chili's, Chi Chi's and Rusty Scupper. We have completed cafeterias for educational institutions such as Johns Hopkins University, Loyola and Bucknell, correctional institutions such as Baltimore City Jail, Montgomery and Fairfax County Detention centers, government facilities like the Smithsonian Institution, Fannie Mae, the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, "FHLBB", Federal Office Building ("FOB" 6) and the World Bank.
We have fabricated and installed equipment and millwork packages for Reagan, Dulles, BWI, Orlando, Charlotte, Newark and Pittsburgh airports. We have fabricated equipment for entire tollroad food facilites such as the Florida Turnpike, New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, Massachusetts Turnpike and New York Thruway. We have fabricated equipment for foreign destinations like the United Kingdom, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda and many embasssies around the world. We have done convention centers like MCI Center, DC convention center.
Our specialty is glamorous company headquarters and educational institution cafeteria counters and we have done some of the largest and most prestigious such as T. Rowe Price, Marriott (3 times), Fore Systems, IBM and Cisco Systems.
