American Metal Fabricators "Amfab" is a custom stainless steel and millwork food service equipment fabricator in the Washington, DC area. We sell wholesale to Food service equipment dealers and Restaurant Franchise Chains. We have been in business since 1946 We have never been bought or merged in the 53 years since then. Our infrastructure
Amfab employs a workforce of over 100 people. Our new state of the art 92,000 square foot manufacturing facility, with offices and and warehouses are located on a 7.5 acre tract gives us room to expand in the future. Amfab is the largest NSF approved manufacturer of food preparation and serving equipment within a 100 mile radius of Washington, DC.
Cutting Edge Fabrication Technology
Amfab's drafting department features the latest CAD CAM technology utilizing Autocad 14 integated with a cam system that is the first of it's kind in the United States. This system features pop-up folded shapes for our most used CAM routines. We provide shop drawings of or equipment in a 3D isometric format that are much more readable and understandable than the industry standard elevation, plan and section view drawings. Even the most inexperienced end users can understand our drawings. Anyone can see exactly what the equipment will look like with digital clarity before it is fabricated. All shop drawings and plans are printed on 600 dpi HP color ink jet plotters up to E size if necessary.
Our CAD CAM (Computer Aided Drafting / Computer Aided Manufacturing) system incorporates programmable CNC (Computer Numeric Controlled) punching and bending machinery gives Amfab the capability to mass produce job shop type items along with intricate custom one a kind type work. Amfab fabricates using standard #4 or mirror polished stainless steel, marble, solid surface materials such as Corian® Fountainhead® and Avonite®, high pressure laminants including Formica, Nevamar® & Wilsonite ®, wood work, brass, copper, plastic laminate, curved and straight tempered glass and acrylic plastic. The use of the combination of these materials enables Amfab to create anything you can imagine, including, but not limited to work counters, tray slides, display cases and breath guards with graceful curves as well as straight, angled or "U" shaped. We have delighted many designers and consultants by producing equipment designs that others claim are impossible to fabricate.
